Deputy Majority Leader and TGP Party-List Representive Jose “Bong” Joson Teves, Jr. attends the ceremonial signing of two significant bills by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in Malacañang Palace.
President Marcos, Jr. signed into law the bill creating the Negros Island Region which is now composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bacolod City.
The President also signed into law the bill instituting reforms in real property valuation and assessment in the Philippines by reorganizing the Bureau of Local Government Finance, granting of tax amnesty on real property and special levies on real property.
These laws mark a substantial step towards improved regional governance and a more efficient property tax system in the country.
The event was also witnessed by House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Senate President Chiz Escudero and other distinguished members of the 19th Congress from both House of Representatives and the Senate.
