CHED Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Program

College students from various schools in CALABARZON received checks as part of the CHED Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Program, an initiative by Deputy Majority Leader and TGP Party-List Representative Bong Joson Teves Jr. The students, accompanied by their parents, received the checks from representatives of the CHED IVA Regional Office. The event was attended by several local government officials from Laguna, including Sta. Cruz Vice-Mayor Laarni Malibiran, Magdalena Mayor Peter Bucal, Councilor Ron Saguirre, members of the Siniloan Sangguniang Bayan, representatives of Bokal Dada Reyes, and officials from the Alaminos Mayor’s Office.

CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera III addressed the gathering via a video message, highlighting the significance of the SMART Program in supporting students’ educational needs. This event underscores the collaborative efforts of CHED and local government units in Laguna to provide financial aid to students, aiding their recovery and transition during challenging times.
