The Anti-Terrorism Council headed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin issued a press briefer clearing the name of TGP Party-List and Deputy Majority Leader Jose “Bong” J. Teves, Jr. from the Teves Terrorist Group of former Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves, Jr.

The briefer stated that there is no connection between DML Bong Teves and former Representative Arnie Teves and that the former is not a member nor affiliated with the Teves Terrorist Group of the latter.

Since the onset of the issue regarding the assassination of the late Negros Oriental Governor Roel De Gamo where former Representative Arnie Teves is the alleged mastermind, the name of DML Bong Teves’ has been dragged into the issue due to confusion.

Last March 2023, DML Bong Teves even made a privilege speech in session to clear his name and end the confusion between the two Teves.
